EASA Class 1 examination

An EASA Class 1 examination is suitable for every airline transport pilot (ATPL), commercial pilot (CPL) or multi-crew pilot (MPL).

EASA Examinations

    • Medical history in combination with physical examination
    • Biometrics (height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure)
    • Urine test
    • Comprehensive blood test
    • ECG (cardiac test at rest)
    • Extensive eye test
    • History;
    • Visual acuity: distant – intermediate – near; with and without optical correction;
    • Refraction measurement;
    • Eye movement and binocular vision;
    • Fields of vision;
    • Color test;
    • Examination of the external eye, anatomy, media and fundoscopy.
    • Lung function test
    • Comprehensive ENT (ear, nose and throat) examination
    • Audiogram
    • Tympanometry
    • Medical history in combination with physical examination
    • Biometrics (height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure)
    • Urine test
    • Blood test (HB)
    • ECG (cardiac test in rest)
    • If younger than 30, every five years
    • If aged between 30 and 39, every two years
    • Standard eye test
    • Lung function test (peak flow)
    • Standard ENT (ear, nose and throat) examination
    • Audiogram (under the age of 40, every five years)
    • Medical history in combination with physical examination
    • Biometrics (height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure)
    • Urine test
    • Blood test (HB)
    • Cholesterol analysis at the age of 40 (afterwards on indication)
    • ECG (cardiac test at rest), annually
    • Standard eye test

At various locations in the Netherlands

The Aviation Medical Center has several locations throughout the Netherlands. At all these locations you can go for a medical or psychological examination. One exception is the Rijswijk location. Only medical examinations are held there.
